CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team returns home to host Georgetown College on Sunday. Tip-off is scheduled for noon at Fifth Third Arena.

THE RUNDOWN

  • Last time out, Cincinnati (0-3) came up short against Saint Joseph’s in a 70-65 loss on the road. The Bearcats shot 50% from three but finished just 37% overall from the field and 50% at the free throw line (9-18 FT).
  • Cincinnati, which has eight newcomers on this year’s roster, has seen each of its first three games decided by five points or fewer with an average scoring margin of -4.3.
  • Cincinnati will face a challenging non-conference slate, playing four teams that reached the NCAA Tournament or WBIT last season and three others that played in the WNIT.
  • Senior Mya Perry has scored in double figures in all three games, posting a team-high 19 points against Saint Joseph’s. She is averaging 21.7 points per game while shooting 46% from the field and 50% from three-point range.
  • Perry leads the Big 12 and ranks second nationally in three-pointers made per game (4.3). She also ranks fourth in the league in scoring and seventh in three-point percentage.
  • Point guard Caliyah DeVillasee is the only Big 12 freshman averaging at least 14 points, four assists and three rebounds per game, and one of just four nationally alongside Aaliyah Chavez (Oklahoma), Jazzy Davidson (USC) and Tatum Brown (Jacksonville).
  • Junior guard Reagan Jackson is averaging 12.7 points per game while shooting 47% from the field and 50% from deep. She ranks fourth in the Big 12 in free throws made (15).
  • Freshman forward Kylie Torrence finished with 18 points, six rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block at Penn State. She is the first freshman and just the sixth Bearcat overall to post that stat line since the 1999-2000 season.
  • Torrence is the fourth Bearcat averaging double figures this season at 11.3 points per game. She leads the team in rebounding (6.7) and is tied for the team lead in steals (5) and blocks (3).
  • Kali Barrett, after missing the season opener due to injury, made her collegiate debut at Penn State and has made five three-pointers in her first two games (.556).
  • Perry is one of just four players nationally this season to score 31 or more points while making six three-pointers in a game. Her 31 points vs. Lehigh were the most by a Bearcat since Ilmar’I Thomas scored 51 on Feb. 24, 2021. It marked just the fifth time this century a Bearcat has scored 30+ points while hitting six or more threes.
  • Perry and Jackson combined for 10 three-pointers against Lehigh, becoming the first Bearcat duo to each score at least 20 points and make four or more threes in the same game since March 2, 2020, when Antoinette Miller and Sam Rodgers did so against East Carolina.
  • Cincinnati shot 55% (11-of-20) from three-point range against Lehigh, its best performance from beyond the arc since 2023. The performance ranks 11th nationally for a single game this season.
  • The Bearcats lead the Big 12 in three-point shooting at 45.5%, ranking seventh nationally, but are converting just 69% of their free throw attempts.
  • Sunday’s game marks the first meeting between Cincinnati and Georgetown College. The Bearcats will face six first-time opponents during the 2025-26 season.
  • Cincinnati has been hit by injuries to start the season, with at least three players unavailable in each game and only nine active against St. Joe's. Perry and Jackson are averaging 34 minutes per game.
