CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team heads back on the road to face Ball State on Thursday. Tip-off is schedule for 6:30 p.m. in Muncie, Ind.

THE RUNDOWN

  • Cincinnati picked up its first win of the season on Sunday, rolling to a 100-61 win over Georgetown College. It marked Cincinnati’s first 100-point performance since 2003.
  • Freshman point guard Caliyah DeVillasee was named Big 12 Freshman of the Week on Monday. She became the first Bearcat to win the league’s weekly rookie honor.
  • DeVillasee set the program’s single-game record with 15 assists against Georgetown College. She broke a 19-year-old mark set by Treasure Humphries (14) in 2006.
  • Her 15 assists stand as the most by any freshman in the nation this season and are the second most overall in a game by any player. It is tied for the most by any major conference freshman in the last 20 years (USC’s Minyon Moore – December 3, 2016).
  • DeVillasee paired it with 14 points for her first career double-double and the program’s first point-assist double-double since 2022. For the week, she averaged 14.5 points, 10.0 assists and 5.5 rebounds per game while posting a 5.0 assist-to-turnover ratio.
  • Every player who saw action against Georgetown College scored at least seven points. All five starters finished in double figures for the first time since 2019, and all three reserves set new career highs in points and/or rebounds.
  • Senior Mya Perry has scored in double figures in all four games, including a team-high 23 against Georgetown — her 11th career 20-point outing. She is averaging 22.0 points per game while shooting 47% from the field and 49% from three-point range.
  • Perry is second in the Big 12 and sixth nationally in three-pointers made per game (4.0). She also ranks third in the league in scoring and fourth in three-point percentage.
  • DeVillasee is one of four players nationally averaging at least 14 points, seven assists and four rebounds per game, joining Liv McGill (Florida), Olivia Miles (TCU) and Ny’Ceara Pryor (Texas A&M). She ranks third in the Big 12 and ninth nationally in assists per game (7.3).
  • Junior guard Reagan Jackson is averaging 14.0 points per game while shooting 48% from the field and 53% from deep. She ranks second in the Big 12 in three-point percentage and fifth in free throws made (20).
  • Freshman forward Kylie Torrence is the fourth Bearcat averaging double figures this season at 11.5 points per game. She leads the team in rebounding (7.3) and is tied for the team lead in blocks (5). She narrowly missed a double-double last time out, finishing with 12 points and nine boards vs. Georgetown College.
  • As a team, the Bearcats lead the Big 12 and rank fourth nationally in three-point shooting at 45.3%. They also sit second in the league in offensive rebounding at 18 per game.
  • Cincinnati has been hit by injuries to start the season, with at least three players unavailable in each game. Perry and Jackson are each averaging 34 minutes per contest.
  • Cincinnati will face a challenging non-conference slate, playing four teams that reached the NCAA Tournament or WBIT last season and three others that played in the WNIT. Ball State won the 2025 MAC Tournament to earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
  • Thursday’s game will be the 15th meeting between Cincinnati and Ball State. The Bearcats hold a 9-5 advantage in the all-time series.
