COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving team set two new school records at the Ohio tate Invitational this week in Columbus.

The women’s team finished in seventh with 832, while the men’s team finished eighth overall with a score of 689. 

Lindi Worrell set a new school record in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:11.55, while Joleigh Crye broke her own school record in the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing with 57.99.

The men’s team added 19 new school record book additions with Owen Chiles who contributed six of them in the 50-yard butterfly (22.40), 50-yard freestyle, and contributions to the four relays that earned a new top-ten time. Aiden Gerst also delivered a standout performance, adding five new record-book times, highlighted by a 1:36.61 in the 200-yard freestyle, a 47.87 in the 100-yard backstroke, and a 1:42.95 in the 200-yard backstroke while also contributing to two relays that secured top-ten marks.

The women’s team recorded 20 new top-ten times in the school record book, led by junior Lindi Worrell. She claimed eight of those marks, highlighted by a 28.18 in the 50-yard breaststroke, 59.96 in the 100-yard breaststroke, 2:11.55 in the 200-yard breaststroke, and 49.92 in the 100-yard freestyle, while also contributing to four relays that earned top-ten times.

Taira Vroom added six new top-ten performances to the record book, highlighted by a 4:18.26 in the 400-yard IM, 1:47.22 in the 200-yard freestyle, 49.82 in the 100-yard freestyle, 16:44.18 in the 1,650-yard freestyle while also contributed to two relays that posted top-ten times.

Sophomore Ramez Diaa claimed fifth in the platform A-final, earning a fifth-place finish with a score of 305.15. Freshman Noah Green reached finals in both platform and 1-meter, finishing 21st on platform (269.20) and 28th on 3-meter (284.35).

Langely Petersen advanced into scoring rounds in the 1-meter and 3-meter dive, placing 31st on 3-meter (226.05) and 33rd on 1-meter (180.75). 

The Bearcats will travel to Bloomington, Ind., to face the Indiana Hoosiers on Friday, December 5.
