The University of Cincinnati athletics department continued to rock the annual Graduation Success Rates, as announced by the NCAA this week for the 2015-18 cohort.
UC's 97 score, in addition to its 98 in football, served as the highest in the Big 12. The former was tied for third with Boston College, Duke and Stanford, trailing only Northwestern and Notre Dame. The latter was also third in all of FBS, with Northwestern and Wake Forest tied for the lead. Only six power-conference schools had a 97 or better in their respective departments.
Six sports boasted a perfect GSR: women's basketball, men's and women's golf, lacrosse, women's soccer and tennis.
"The numbers recently released by the NCAA per GSR rates for UC reflect our university commitment to academic support for our student-athletes," Joe Luckey, Cincinnati's Executive Senior Associate AD for Student-Athlete Support Services, said. "The alignment on our campus from enrollment management to the colleges to athletics is the reason we are at this level of success.
"We have worked hard in SASS to earn the trust of our campus partners," Luckey said. "Keri Thoman has led football academic advising since 2008 and now leads Academic Services
for our student-athletes. Her leadership with both is an integral part to this alignment and success."
