CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team continues its homestand against UNLV on Saturday. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Fifth Third Arena.
THE RUNDOWN
- Cincinnati (4-6) looks to snap a two-game skid when UNLV (5-4) visits Fifth Third Arena. The Lady Rebels are one of seven non-conference opponents this season that reached postseason play in 2025, advancing to the second round of the WBIT last year.
- Freshman Caliyah DeVillasee earned her second Big 12 Freshman of the Week honor on Monday, becoming the first league freshman this season to win the award twice. She has collected three Big 12 honors overall, including a Week 3 Starting Five selection.
- DeVillasee averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists last week while shooting 86.7% (13-of-15) from the free throw line. She was the only Big 12 player to record two 20-point games during the week.
- Nationally, DeVillasee ranks fifth among freshmen in scoring (16.2), second in assists (5.6) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.2). She has scored in double figures in all but one game, and her four 20-point performances are tied for the most by a Cincinnati freshman since 2002-03.
- Cincinnati’s six losses have come by an average margin of just 7.3 points, including four by five points or fewer. The Bearcats are shooting 49% in wins compared to 38% in losses, while opponents have shot 47% in those defeats.
- Senior Mya Perry has opened the season with 10 straight games in double figures — the longest season-opening streak by a Bearcat since Dayeesha Hollins’ 13 in 2012-13.
- Freshman Kali Barrett posted a career-high 12 points, including a pair of threes, in the Crosstown Shootout. Eight different Bearcats have recorded a double-figure scoring game this season.
- Perry is averaging 19.1 points per game while shooting 43% from the field and 37% from three. She has led the Bearcats in scoring and steals on five occasions, and in assists three times. Nationally, she is one of only nine players with 180+ points and 25+ made threes this season.
- Perry ranks fifth in the Big 12 in scoring (18.6) and field goals made (64), second in minutes played (34.5) and 10th in threes made (25). She has notched four 20-point games this season.
- DeVillasee continues an impressive debut season as one of just seven players nationally — and the only freshman — with 160+ points and 50+ assists. She has nine double-figure games, two double-doubles and four 20-point outings.
- No Big 12 player logs more minutes than DeVillasee (34.7 mpg). She also ranks seventh in the Big 12 and 26th nationally in assists per game (5.6) and eighth in the league in scoring (16.2).
- Junior Reagan Jackson is averaging 12.9 points per game and leads UC with a 36% clip from three. She ranks eighth in the Big 12 in free throws made (37) and seventh in free throw percentage (.822).
- Freshman Kylie Torrence leads UC in rebounds (64) and blocks (16) and is fourth on the team in scoring (9.5). Her 1.6 blocks per game rank sixth in the Big 12. She recorded her first career double-double with 15 points and 11 boards against Miami (OH).
- Cincinnati leads the Big 12 and ranks 24th nationally in offensive rebounds (16.0 per game). The Bearcats have finished top two in the league in each of the last two seasons and have outrebounded opponents in all but one game this year.
- Cincinnati has made a habit of getting to the line, making 14.4 free throws a game – good for seventh in the Big 12. The Bearcats led the league in the category each of the last two seasons.
