CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team returns home to host Miami (OH) on Wednesday morning for Education Day inside Fifth Third Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on ESPN+.

THE RUNDOWN

  • Cincinnati swept the Florida Gulf Classic with wins over Alabama A&M (72-49) and New Mexico (63-60) and has now won three straight.
  • Mya Perry was named Most Outstanding Player of the Classic, with Reagan Jackson joining her on the All-Tournament Team. Perry averaged 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals, while Jackson added 14.0 points per game across the two wins.
  • In UC’s win over Alabama A&M, Perry (25) and DeVillasee (22) combined for 47 of the Bearcats’ 72 points. The duo went 14-of-15 at the line, with each knocking down a career-best seven free throws. DeVillasee also recorded season highs in scoring and rebounds (7).
  • Center Destiny Thomas has delivered a strong return after missing two games due to illness. She averaged 8.5 points and 7.5 rebounds at the Florida Gulf Classic, highlighted by a 10-point, 7-rebound showing vs. New Mexico.
  • Senior Mya Perry has scored in double figures in all eight games, including three 20-point performances. She is averaging 19.0 points while shooting 43% from the field and 38% from three. She has led UC in scoring five times, steals three times and assists twice. She is one of 10 players nationally with 150+ points and 20+ made threes this season.
  • Perry ranks fifth in the Big 12 in scoring (19.0), fourth in field goals made (53), third in minutes played (33.8) and ninth in three-pointers made (21).
  • Junior Reagan Jackson is averaging 14.6 points and leads UC with a 41% mark from three. She ranks sixth in the Big 12 in free throws made (36) and owns the league’s fourth-best free throw percentage (.857).
  • DeVillasee continues an impressive debut season with two Big 12 weekly honors already (Freshman of the Week, Starting Five). She is averaging 14.9 points and a team-best 6.0 assists, with seven double-figure games, two double-doubles and two 20-point outings. She ranks fifth in the Big 12 and 21st nationally in assists per game (6.0) and is second in the league in minutes played (33.8).
  • DeVillasee’s program-record 15 assists are tied for the most by any freshman in the nation this season and are the second most in a game by any player. The mark also ties the most by a major conference freshman in the last 20 years (USC’s Minyon Moore, 2016; Vanderbilt’s Aubrey Galvan, 2025).
  • DeVillasee is one of six players nationally – and the only freshman – averaging at least 14 points and six assists, joining Liv McGill (Florida), Olivia Miles (TCU), Katie Fiso (Oregon), Delaney Gibb (BYU) and Ny’Ceara Pryor (Texas A&M).
  • Through eight games, DeVillasee has 119 points and 48 assists. Only five players since 1999-2000 have hit both of those marks in their first eight career games.
  • As a team, Cincinnati ranks second in the Big 12 and 31st nationally in offensive rebounds (15.9). The Bearcats also sit fifth in the league in three-point percentage (.352) and sixth in scoring offense (77.6).
  • Cincinnati will face a challenging non-conference slate, playing four teams that reached the NCAA Tournament or WBIT last season and three others that played in the WNIT.
  • Cincinnati and Miami (OH) have met 37 times, with the Bearcats holding a 19-18 lead in the all-time series and a 9-7 mark at home. The rivalry is UC’s sixth-longest, dating back to Feb. 24, 1973.
