URBANA, Ill. — Cincinnati junior Ryan Ford delivered the best NCAA regional finish in program history this week, placing tied for second at 9-under-par 204 after a final-round 67 on Wednesday at the NCAA Urbana Regional.

Ford was the second-best individual finisher in the field, one shot behind Michigan's Hunter Thomson, who won at 10-under 203 to advance to the NCAA Championships. The top five teams in each of the six regionals, as well as the top individual not on any of those squads, advance to the national championship in Carlsbad, Calif.

Ford turned in a front-nine 1-under 35 with birdies on the par-5s. He caught fire on the back nine, carding birdies on Nos. 12, 14 and 15 to post a 3-under 32. Over the three rounds, Ford posted scores of 69-68-67. The 204 was a new season low tournament score for Ford.

This was the program's fourth-straight year in the postseason, the best streak in school history. The prior three instances saw the first-ever team appearance, at the Las Vegas Regional in 2023, while Sam Jean qualified as an individual in Columbus in 2022 and Ty Gingerich in West Lafayette in 2024.
