CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team remains on the road Saturday for a matchup against Colorado at 3 p.m. ET in Boulder.

THE RUNDOWN

  • Last time out, Cincinnati (5-9, 0-2) could not overcome a decisive third quarter by Kansas State, falling 79-52 on New Year’s Eve in Manhattan, Kan. The game was tied at halftime before Kansas State opened the second half on a 15-0 run and outscored the Bearcats by 22 in the third quarter.
  • Senior Mya Perry led the Bearcats with 14 points against Kansas State. She has scored in double figures in all 14 games this season, the longest season-opening streak by a Bearcat since Debbie Merrill in 2002-03. Perry’s longest career double-figure scoring streak is 15 games, set last season at FAU.
  • Freshman Dee Alexander made her season debut against Oklahoma State after missing the first 12 games while recovering from an ankle injury. She is averaging 11.1 points on 50% shooting and 3.5 rebounds through her first two outings.
  • Alexander recorded the first double-figure scoring performance of her career against Kansas State, finishing with 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting, four rebounds and one block.
  • Freshman Kylie Torrence returned to the lineup vs. K-State and posted a career-high 16 rebounds to go along with seven points and three steals. Her 16 boards are the most by a UC freshman this century and the most by a Big 12 freshman this season.
  • Perry is averaging 18.1 points, 2.1 assists and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 38% from the field. She has led UC in scoring eight times, steals nine times and assists four times.
  • Perry ranks seventh in the Big 12 in scoring (18.1), fifth in field goals made (86) and fifth in three-pointers made (37). She has recorded five 20-point games this season and is one of just six players nationally with 250+ points and 35+ made three-pointers.
  • Torrence leads Cincinnati in rebounding (7.7) and blocks (18), with her 1.4 blocks per game ranking seventh in the Big 12. She has three double-digit rebounding performances and is one of just 12 freshmen nationally with at least 100 points and 100 rebounds this season.
  • Nine Bearcats have missed at least one game this season due to injury or illness. Freshman point guard Caliyah DeVillasee has missed the last four games with a lower body injury.
  • The Bearcats held a +15 rebounding advantage against Kansas State (52-37) and have outrebounded their opponent in all but two games this season. They lead the Big 12 and rank 30th nationally in offensive rebounding (15.6), while ranking fourth in the Big 12 in rebounds per game (41.5).
  • Junior Reagan Jackson is averaging 11.1 points per game and ranks fourth in the Big 12 in free throw percentage (.827).
  • Perry and DeVillasee rank first and second, respectively, in the conference in minutes per game, each averaging more than 34 per contest.
  • Nationally, DeVillasee ranks sixth among freshmen in scoring (16.2), second in assists (5.6) and third in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.2). She has scored in double figures in all but one game and has recorded two double-doubles. Her four 20-point performances are tied for the most by a Cincinnati freshman since 2002-03.
  • DeVillasee has already earned three Big 12 weekly honors this season (Freshman of the Week twice, Starting Five once). She is one of only seven players nationally — and the only freshman — averaging at least 16 points, five assists and four rebounds per game.
  • Cincinnati has made a habit of getting to the line, making 13 free throws a game. The Bearcats have owned the free throw edge in 10 games this season and sit eighth in the Big 12 in free throws made.
  • Cincinnati and Colorado will meet for the third time in program history, with the series tied 1-1.
