Bearcat Bits

- The 2025-26 campaign marks the 125th season of competition for Cincinnati men’s basketball, and the Bearcats will commemorate the milestone with a year-long celebration honoring the program’s rich history, iconic players and cultural legacy. Cincinnati men’s basketball, which was named a top-10 program in college basketball history by the Associated Press, boasts 44 All-Americans, 41 conference titles, six Final Four appearances and back-to-back national championships across its history, which dates back to the 1901-02 season.
- Cincinnati, allowing just 66.2 points per game defensively, ranks seventh nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency, per KenPom. Cincinnati also ranks second in the country in non-steal turnover percentage (10.6%), fourth in opponent offensive rebound percentage (24.1%) and 20th in block percentage (14.6%).
- Cincinnati has found itself forcing its opponents to play more deliberately on the offensive end. The Bearcats’ opponents are taking 17.8 seconds per possession, good for 268th nationally.
- The Bearcats rank second in the Big 12 in 3-point attempts per game (28.1), while ranking  third in the conference in turnovers forced per game (14.56), fourth in scoring defense (66.2), turnover margin (2.4) and assists per game (17.3) and fifth in blocks per game (4.8) and defensive rebounds per game (26.67).
- Despite missing the NJIT and Eastern Michigan games with an injury, senior forward Baba Miller sees himself among the best nationally and in the Big 12. Miller is tied for 20th nationally and second in the Big 12 in double-doubles with eight, while sitting first in the conference and third nationally with 8.31 defensive rebounds per contest and seventh in the country and second in the conference with 10.8 total rebounds per game. He ranks second in the nation in defensive rebounding percentage at 31.5%.
- Senior forward Baba Miller was named to the Big 12 Starting Five Monday, the third time this season he earned the distinction. Miller averaged 16.5 points and 11.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game in wins over Colorado and No. 2 Iowa State last week. The 25-point, 11-rebound, four-assist and two-block effort against the Buffaloes marked his eighth double-double of the season and 14th of his career.
- Arizona has won all five previous meetings against the Bearcats. In the latest matchup last Jan. 4 in Cincinnati, the Bearcats came back from a 19-point second-half deficit to tie the game in the final minute, but ultimately fell to Arizona, 72-67, at Fifth Third Arena. The Bearcats were led by Daniel Skillings Jr. (season-high 18 points) and Dillon Mitchell (13 points). The Wildcats were led by guards Jaden Bradley (15 points) and Caleb Love (12 points).
- Led by fifth-year head coach Tommy Lloyd, the top-ranked Wildcats are 18-0 on the year and have won all five of their Big 12 contests after an 84-77 win at UCF Saturday. Arizona, which received all 61 first-place votes in this week’s AP Poll, leads the Big 12 in multiple categories, including scoring margin, scoring offense, rebounding margin, defensive rebounds per game, rebounds per game, free throw attempts, field goal percentage and fast-break points. Freshman forward Koa Peat leads five Wildcats averaging double-figure scoring with 14.7 points per game to go along with 5.8 boards per contest. Freshman guard Brayden Burries is scoring 14.3 points per game, while senior guard Jaden Bradley pours in 14.1 points per contest and leads the team with 82 assists.
