CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati women’s basketball senior Mya Perry has been named to the Big 12’s Starting Five, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Perry is joined on the Week 11 Starting Five by Oklahoma State’s Stailee Heard (Player of the Week), Kansas’ Jaliya Davis (Freshman of the Week), Arizona State’s Heloisa Carrera, and Baylor’s Taliah Scott.
The Reynoldsburg, Ohio native averaged 21.0 points over two games, shooting 48.1% from the field, 53.3% from three and 80% from the line. She was second in the Big 12 in scoring for the week, tied for first in 3-pointers made, third in 3-point percentage, and ninth in field-goal percentage.
Her week included a 24-point, 42-minute performance at UCF, where she forced overtime with a buzzer-beating three-pointer. She added an 18-point effort vs. West Virginia.
In Big 12 play, Perry is shooting 44% from 3-point range and has made at least three 3-pointers in all but one conference game. She leads the league with 3.1 made 3-pointers per game in conference action.
Perry and the Bearcats are back in action Wednesday night at Iowa State (7:30 p.m. ET).
