Tennis Opens Home Slate with a Season-Opening Doubleheader

The University of Cincinnati Women’s Tennis Program will be opening the 2026 Spring season at home with a double header against Chicago State (1:30 P.M.) and Cleveland State (6:30 P.M.) at the Western Athletic Club on Friday, Jan 23.

CINCINNATI - The University of Cincinnati Women’s Tennis Program will be opening the 2026 Spring season at home with a double header against Chicago State (1:30 P.M.) and Cleveland State (6:30 P.M.) at the Western Athletic Club on Friday, Jan 23rd.

Cincinnati returns 6 of the 8 players from the 2025 season roster and welcomes 3 newcomers, including senior Caterina Greco, freshmen Tara Kurepa and Anastasija “Ana” Arsic.

Greco played club for Serie B2 for Circolo Tennis Reggie Emilia in 2023 and Serie C for AT Darzo in 2024-25. She also contributed to the win for the U16 women’s regional championship.

Kurepa graduated from Jericho Senior High School and played club for JMTA Sportime Syosset and trained at the John McEnroe Tennis Academy. She is a five-star recruit who was ranked as the No. 7 player in New York and 83rd nationally by TennisRecruiting.net.

Arsic graduated from Sveti Sava High School in Belgrade, Serbia. She is a four-time National Champion from 2022-25, a finalist at the ITF J5 Mostar in 2023 and won the 2024 doubles title at the ITF J5 Ulcinj. She ranked as the No. 1 player on the Serbian National Rankings for four years in a row.

// SCOUTING THE COUGARS

Chicago State began its season at Western Michigan on Friday, January 16th and faced Missouri and Northern Illinois on Saturday, January 17th before coming to Cincinnati.

Last season, the Cougars finished with a 0-14 record and went 0-6 in the Northeast Conference.

// SCOUTING THE VIKINGS

Cleveland State kicked off its season at Eastern Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 17, before making the trip to Cincinnati on Friday.

Last season, the Vikings ended with a 13-10 record and went 6-0 in the Horizon League. In their previous conference tournament, the Vikings advanced to the championship and lost to Youngstown State on April 27, 2025.

Ella Franz became Cleveland State’s all-time doubles wins leaders with Tereze Vevere after finishing the year with 66 wins.
