CINCINNATI – Cincinnati linebacker Jake Golday and offensive lineman Evan Tengesdahl have both been named All-Americans by Phil Steele, the publication announced.
Golday was placed on the third team, while Tengesdahl was named an honorable mention.
A First Team All-Big 12 selection, Golday put together an outstanding 2025 season. He led Cincinnati with 105 tackles while adding six TFL, 3.5 sacks, and three pass breakups. He was the first Bearcat to post a 100-tackle season since Ivan Pace Jr. did so in 2022. Golday ranked among the Big 12 leaders in tackles and had eight games with double-digit stops.
Tengesdahl, who along with Joe Cotton and Taran Tyo announced his intentions to return for 2026, received All-America honors from the Associated Press as well. Tengesdahl started every game at left guard this season and was a huge part of Cincinnati’s offensive line having the season it did. As of the end of the regular season, UC ranked second nationally in fewest sacks allowed (seven) and third in fewest TFL allowed (39). Cincinnati’s offense led the Big 12 in yards per play (7.13) and yards per carry (5.90), ranking sixth and second in the nation, respectively.
Phil Steele also put out its All-Big 12 teams, and 10 Bearcats received that distinction. Both Golday and Tengesdahl were placed on the first team; Brendan Sorsby, Cyrus Allen, Dontay Corleone, and Eli Stein both made the second team; and Gavin Gerhardt, Taran Tyo, Joe Cotton, and Max Fletcher all received third-team honors.
