CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team welcomes another ranked opponent to Fifth Third Arena on Saturday, hosting No. 17 Texas Tech at 2 p.m.

THE RUNDOWN

  • Cincinnati is coming off a 71-63 upset of No. 11 Iowa State on Wednesday inside Fifth Third Arena, earning its first victory over a ranked opponent since defeating No. 20 Marquette on Feb. 28, 2011.
  • The win marked the highest-ranked victory in program history. The Bearcats’ previous top-ranked win came in 1984, when UC defeated No. 12 Tennessee, 72-69, on Nov. 26 in Knoxville.
  • Senior Mya Perry delivered a standout performance, scoring 26 points on 10-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-6 from three-point range, while playing all 40 minutes. She is one of just two players nationally to score at least 26 points on 71% shooting against a top-25 opponent this season along with UCLA's Gabriela Jaquez.
  • Cincinnati’s defense held Iowa State to 36% shooting overall and just 19% from beyond the arc (4-of-21), marking the Cyclones’ worst shooting performance since Feb. 22, 2025. UC also limited Iowa State to 63 points, 26 below its season average.
  • Defending the nation’s leading scorer Audi Crooks was a committee effort from Destiny Thomas, Mary Carden, Alliance Ndiba and Delaney Snyder. The quartet limited Crooks to a season-low 48% shooting (10-of-21) in a season-high 34 minutes.
  • Perry has scored in double figures in all 16 games this season, the longest season-opening streak by a Bearcat since Debbie Merrill in 2002-03 and the longest streak of her career. She has recorded six 20-point performances and is one of just nine players nationally with 290+ points and 40+ made three-pointers.
  • Perry has connected on 18 three-pointers over her last five games, shooting 44% from deep and hitting at least three triples in each contest.
  • Freshman Kylie Torrence is averaging 12.0 rebounds over her last four games and pulled down nine boards in the win over Iowa State. She posted a career-high 16 rebounds against Kansas State on Dec. 31, the most by a UC freshman this century and the most by a Big 12 freshman this season.
  • Freshman Caliyah DeVillasee has scored in double figures in 11 of her 12 games played this season. Nationally, she ranks sixth among freshmen in scoring (16.0), second in assists (5.3) and third in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0).
  • Perry is averaging 18.3 points, 2.1 assists and 2.0 steals per game while shooting 41% from the field and 36% from three-point range. She ranks fifth in the Big 12 in scoring, fourth in field goals made (101) and third in three-pointers made (44).
  • Torrence leads Cincinnati in rebounds (120) and blocks (19), with her 1.3 blocks per game ranking ninth in the Big 12. She is one of just six freshmen nationally with at least 110 points, 120 rebounds and 15 blocks this season.
  • Cincinnati has outrebounded its opponent in 13 games this season and held a +14 rebounding margin against Iowa State (44-30). The Bearcats rank second in the Big 12 and 42nd nationally in offensive rebounding (14.8) and fourth in the league in rebounds per game (41.2).
  • Junior Reagan Jackson is averaging 10.5 points per game and ranks sixth in the Big 12 in free throw percentage (.825).
  • Perry and DeVillasee rank first and third, respectively, in the conference in minutes per game, each averaging more than 33 per contest.
  • DeVillasee has already earned three Big 12 weekly honors this season (Freshman of the Week twice, Starting Five once). She is one of only nine players nationally — and the only freshman — averaging at least 16 points, five assists and three rebounds per game.
  • The Bearcats have owned the advantage at the free throw line in 11 games this season and sit sixth in the Big 12 in free throws made (14.1). The Bearcats went 17-of-24 at the line against Iowa State, including 11-of-15 in the fourth quarter.
