- The 2025-26 campaign marks the 125th season of competition for Cincinnati men’s basketball, and the Bearcats will commemorate the milestone with a year-long celebration honoring the program’s rich history, iconic players and cultural legacy. Cincinnati men’s basketball, which was named a top-10 program in college basketball history by the Associated Press, boasts 44 All-Americans, 41 conference titles, six Final Four appearances and back-to-back national championships across its history, which dates back to the 1901-02 season.
- Cincinnati, allowing just 67.3 points per game defensively, ranks 10th nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency, per KenPom. Cincinnati also ranks 13th in the country in non-steal turnover percentage (9.5%), 17th in opponent offensive rebound percentage (25.9%) and 10th in opponent 2-point distance (7.1).
- Cincinnati has found itself forcing its opponents to play more deliberately on the offensive end. The Bearcats’ opponents are taking 17.8 seconds per possession, good for 273rd nationally.
- The Bearcats rank third in the Big 12 in 3-point attempts per game (26.5), fourth in the conference in scoring defense (67.3), field goal percentage defense (41.3) and assists per game (16.4) and fifth in defensive rebounds per game (26.38).
- Despite missing the NJIT and Eastern Michigan games with an injury, senior forward Baba Miller sees himself among the best nationally and in the Big 12. Miller is tied for 26th nationally and second in the Big 12 in double-doubles with 10, while sitting first in the conference and fourth nationally with 8.09 defensive rebounds per contest and 10th in the country and second in the conference with 10.5 total rebounds per game. He ranks fifth in the nation in defensive rebounding percentage at 29.2%.
- Averaging 13.6 points, 10.5 boards and 3.0 assists per game, Baba Miller is one of three players in college basketball this season averaging at least 13-10-3. Duke’s Cameron Boozer (23.3, 10.0, 4.0) and Butler’s Michael Ajayi (15.8, 11.6, 3.1) are the others. No other Bearcat dating back to 1996-97 has put together that stat line for a full season.
- Cincinnati leads the all-time series between the two schools, 8-3, and 2-1 in contests played in Manhattan, but the Wildcats have won the last two meetings. In the last meeting March 5 of last season, Cincinnati fell to the Wildcats, 54-49, on Senior Night at Fifth Third Arena. Senior guard Day Day Thomas and sophomore guard Jizzle James both reached double-digits in scoring. Thomas started the game hot, scoring seven of the first nine points for the Bearcats before ending the night with 12. James totaled 10 points, six rebounds and three assists.
- Led by fourth-year head coach Jerome Tang, Kansas State is 10-13 overall and 1-9 in Big 12 play. The Wildcats, who are 8-6 at home at Bramlage Coliseum, have dropped their last four games, including an 84-82 defeat at TCU Saturday. Junior guard and preseason All-American P.J. Haggerty ranks second in the Big 12 and is tied for second nationally in scoring at 23.3 points per game, to go along with a team-high 5.2 rebounds per game. Senior guard Nate Johnson, who joins Haggerty as a starter of all 23 contests and is a graduate of Lakota East High School outside of Cincinnati, averages 11.3 points, 4.7 boards and 4.4 assists per contest.
