SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Three Bearcats netted at least three goals as the Cincinnati lacrosse team rounded out its road trip with a commanding 17-9 win over Wofford on Friday afternoon at Gibbs Stadium.
Cincinnati used an 8-2 run spanning the second and third quarters to break the game open, holding a 12-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter. The Bearcats dominated the final period — after Wofford scored the first goal, UC rattled off five consecutive goals, two from Payton Kozina, to punctuate the victory.
Sophomore Paige Selhorn commanded the Cincinnati offense, tallying a career-high eight points on four goals and four assists while also forcing two turnovers.
Junior Paige Counts notched her first hat trick of the season — she has netted two or more goals in all three matchups during the 2026 campaign. Kozina claimed her first career hat trick, tallying three goals on three shots.
Junior Lilly Stelzer fueled the Bearcats' possession game, claiming six ground balls while adding two goals. Sophomore Alyse Keels posted a career-high five ground balls and contributed two goals and two forced turnovers.
Wofford was led by Carlie Cutinella, who netted a hat trick of her own.
Cincinnati dominated the draw circle, winning 17-9, led by sophomore Morgan Handzel's nine draw controls. The Bearcats also held a commanding 29-16 advantage in shots on goal.
In the first quarter, Wofford's Kaitlyn Bellanca opened the scoring, but a Keels goal sparked four straight for Cincinnati, giving the Bearcats a 4-2 advantage heading into the second quarter.
Just as in the opening period, the Terriers struck first. A Lexie Wolfe goal preceded a 4-0 Cincinnati run capped by a Selhorn goal, pushing UC's lead to 8-4 at halftime.
Counts struck twice in the third quarter, and a Selhorn goal extended Cincinnati's lead to 12-5.
With 7:56 remaining in the fourth quarter, Stelzer got the Bearcats on the board before UC shifted into high gear, rattling off five straight goals capped by Kozina's hat-trick-clinching score to put the finishing touches on a 10-point victory.
