Cincinnati Takes On Miami (OH) at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio

The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team is set to host rival Miami (OH) at 6 p.m. inside the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio on Saturday, Feb 14.

CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team is set to host rival Miami (OH) at 6 p.m. inside the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio on Saturday, Feb 14.

Prior to the match, Cincinnati is hosting an Alumni Event within the Lindner Family Tennis Center which is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.

Cincinnati (3-1) is headed into this match off of a win over Western Michigan University, defeating the Broncos 5-2 last Saturday.

The doubles pair of Rozalia Gruszczynska and Anastasija “Ana” Arsic led the momentum for the Bearcats doubles point with a dominant 6-2 victory over Western Michigan’s Lola Glantz and Frida Weijerman. While Gabrielle Guenther and Isabel Pacheco secured the doubles point with a 6-4 win against Polina Khoto and Audrey Smitek.

In singles, Gruszczynska, the senior from Kraków, Poland continued her dominance, finishing first with a swift 6-2, 6-1 victory over Weijerman. 

Milica Popovski captured the last singles win on court No. 6 to take the Bearcats to 5-2 over the Broncos for the win.

Cincinnati is 8-14 against Miami (OH), with the Bearcats winning the last match 6-1 on February 15, 2025.

Miami (OH) comes into the match presenting a record of 2-6, looking to continue their momentum off of victories against Cleveland State (5-2) and Oakland (4-3) this past weekend.

Maria Komar and Nina Chavez led the charge for the RedHawks, defeating Oakland’s Nisa Bulut and Oliwia Klimas 6-4 on Sunday. This win, combined with their 6-1 doubles victory over Cleveland State’s Anna Mancino and Leah Geisz the day prior, landed Komar and Chavez the title of Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week.
