CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team wraps up its road swing Tuesday night at BYU. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. ET in Provo.
THE RUNDOWN
- Cincinnati heads into its penultimate road game after a 67-59 loss at Utah on Saturday. The Bearcats trailed by 18 before trimming the deficit to five with five minutes remaining.
- Senior Mya Perry moved into a tie for 10th on UC’s single-season three-pointers made list with her 66th of the year at Utah, matching Kahla Roudebush (2007-08). She is four away from tying for eighth (70).
- Freshman Caliyah DeVillasee has scored in double figures in 20 of her 22 games played, including seven straight. She posted 13 points and five assists Saturday.
- DeVillasee’s 91 assists are the most by a Bearcat since Akira Levy had 151 in 2021-22. She would become just the fourth freshman in program history with 100+ assists in a season and the first since 2006-07.
- Cincinnati’s 77-61 win over Arizona on Feb. 10 marked the program’s second-largest Big 12 victory since joining the league in 2023-24.
- Redshirt sophomore Ramiyah Byrd recorded career highs of 14 points and 15 rebounds for her second double-double vs. Arizona, adding two assists and two steals. She is just the third Bearcat since 1999 to post that stat line.
- Reagan Jackson averaged 14.5 points last week, including a Big 12-high 19 against Arizona. She has reached double figures 14 times this season.
- Perry ranks sixth in the Big 12 in scoring (16.8 ppg) and remains one of the league’s top perimeter threats, ranking second in made three-pointers (66) and third in threes per game (2.5). She is one of 10 Power 4 players with 400+ points and 60+ made threes this season.
- Perry has 23 double-figure games and nine 20-point performances, tied for the seventh-most in the league.
- DeVillasee ranks 11th in the Big 12 in scoring (15.4), 12th in field goal percentage (.414) and 11th in assists (4.1) this season. Her five 20-point games are the most by a Cincinnati freshman since 2002-03 and the second-most by a Big 12 freshman this season.
- Freshman Kylie Torrence ranks eighth in the Big 12 in rebounds (7.1 rpg) and 10th in blocks (1.0 bpg). She is one of nine freshmen nationally averaging at least eight points, seven rebounds and one block per game.
- Nationally among freshmen, DeVillasee ranks ninth in scoring (15.4), ninth in assists (4.1) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.7). She is one of three freshmen averaging at least 15 points, four assists and three rebounds per game.
- The Bearcats have outrebounded their opponents in 19 games this season and rank first in the Big 12 and 38th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (14.4), along with fourth in the league in total rebounds per game (40.1).
- In Big 12 play, Perry ranks third in the league in both threes per game (2.6) and three-point percentage (.364), hitting at least three triples in eight conference games.
- Cincinnati has held the free throw advantage in 14 games this season and ranks sixth in the Big 12 in free throws made per game (14.3).
- Perry’s season-opening double-figure scoring streak came to an end at 19 games. The run was the longest to start a season by a Bearcat since Debbie Merrill in 2002-03.
- The Bearcats are 9-2 this season when holding opponents to 69 points or fewer.
