THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The University of Cincinnati women’s golf team sits in fourth place after 36 holes at the Texas Golf Throwdown on Monday.
The Bearcats opened the day with a 308 before responding with a 296 in the afternoon round, trimming 12 strokes off their morning total. Iowa State women's golf leads the field at 1-under, followed by Nebraska women's golf (+21) and Texas State women's golf (+26).
Ellise Rymer and Yu-Wei Chiang pace Cincinnati individually, each tied for 10th at 4-over through two rounds.
Rymer rebounded from a first-round 78 to post a 2-under 70 in the afternoon — the lowest round of the day for the Bearcats. She played a clean round that featured three birdies and vaulted her 18 spots up the leaderboard.
Rim Imni sits in 18th place following rounds of 76 and 75. Clara Willem (158) and Mar Garcia Jimenez (160) rounded out the team scoring. Competing as an individual, Angela Gomez posted rounds of 86 and 81.
The final round of the 54-hole event begins Tuesday morning with a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start.
