CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team opens its final homestand of the season Saturday, hosting UCF for Senior Day at 2 p.m. inside Fifth Third Arena.
The Bearcats will wrap up the home slate Wednesday night against TCU.
THE RUNDOWN
- Cincinnati returns home after a 76-67 road win at BYU on Tuesday. Trailing by three with just over four minutes to play, the Bearcats closed on a decisive 14-2 run to seal the victory.
- Senior Mya Perry delivered a career-high 32 points at BYU, knocking down five three-pointers, including two in the final four minutes to spark the game-clinching run. It marked her third career 30-point performance.
- With five threes at BYU, Perry moved into eighth on UC’s single-season three-pointers made list (71) and sits two away from tying for seventh (73).
- Reagan Jackson is averaging 15.0 points on 46% shooting over her last three games. She recorded 16 points, five rebounds and four assists at BYU and has reached double figures in three straight (15 total this season).
- Cincinnati outrebounded BYU 40-33, including 20 offensive boards. It marked the sixth 20-plus offensive rebound game this season and the fourth in Big 12 play.
- Freshman Kylie Torrence added 11 points, seven rebounds, four steals and a block at BYU. She has led the team in rebounding 14 times, blocks 16 times and steals seven times this season.
- Freshman Caliyah DeVillasee’s 92 assists are the most by a Bearcat since Akira Levy (151 in 2021-22). She would become just the fourth freshman in program history with 100+ assists in a season and the first since 2006-07.
- Perry has made at least three triples in 14 games and scored in double figures 24 times this season. Her 10 20-point performances rank seventh in the Big 12.
- Perry ranks fifth in the Big 12 in scoring (17.4 ppg) and remains one of the league’s top perimeter threats, ranking second in both made three-pointers (71) and in threes per game (2.6). She is one of four Power 4 players with 450+ points and 70+ made threes this season.
- DeVillasee ranks 15th in the Big 12 in scoring (14.9), 12th in field goal percentage (.413) and 12th in assists (4.1) this season. Her five 20-point games are the most by a Cincinnati freshman since 2002-03 and the second-most by a Big 12 freshman this season.
- Freshman Kylie Torrence ranks eighth in the Big 12 in rebounds (7.1 rpg) and 11th in blocks (1.0 bpg). She is one of nine freshmen nationally averaging at least eight points, seven rebounds and one block per game.
- Nationally among freshmen, DeVillasee ranks ninth in scoring (14.9), 10th in assists (4.0) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.7). She is one of three freshmen averaging at least 14 points, four assists and three rebounds per game.
- The Bearcats have outrebounded their opponents in 20 games this season and rank first in the Big 12 and 36th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (14.6), along with fourth in the league in total rebounds per game (40.1).
- In Big 12 play, Perry ranks second in the league in threes per game (2.7) and third in three-point percentage (.369), hitting at least nine triples in eight conference games.
- Cincinnati has held the free throw advantage in 15 games this season and ranks fourth in the Big 12 in free throws made per game (14.4).
- Perry’s season-opening double-figure scoring streak came to an end at 19 games. The run was the longest to start a season by a Bearcat since Debbie Merrill in 2002-03.
- The Bearcats are 10-2 this season when holding opponents to 69 points or fewer.
