- The 2025-26 campaign marks the 125th season of competition for Cincinnati men’s basketball, and the Bearcats will commemorate the milestone with a year-long celebration honoring the program’s rich history, iconic players and cultural legacy. Cincinnati men’s basketball, which was named a top-10 program in college basketball history by the Associated Press, boasts 44 All-Americans, 41 conference titles, six Final Four appearances and back-to-back national championships across its history, which dates back to the 1901-02 season.
- Cincinnati, allowing just 67.0 points per game defensively, ranks 11th nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency, per KenPom. Cincinnati also ranks ninth in the country in non-steal turnover percentage (9.6%), 33rd in opponent offensive rebound percentage (26.8%) and 11th in opponent 2-point distance (7.1).
- Cincinnati has found itself forcing its opponents to play more deliberately on the offensive end. The Bearcats’ opponents are taking 17.9 seconds per possession, good for 280th nationally.
- The Bearcats rank third in the Big 12 in 3-point attempts per game (26.2), fourth in the conference in scoring defense (67.0), field goal percentage defense (41.1) and assists per game (16.5) and fifth in defensive rebounds per game (26.12) and turnovers forced per game (13.15).
- Despite missing two games with an injury, senior forward Baba Miller sees himself among the best nationally and in the Big 12. Miller is tied for 23rd nationally and second in the Big 12 in double-doubles with 11, while sitting first in the conference and fourth nationally with 7.92 defensive rebounds per contest and 11th in the country and second in the conference with 10.4 total rebounds per game. He ranks eighth in the nation in defensive rebounding percentage at 29.1%.
- Averaging 13.7 points, 10.4 boards and 3.2 assists per game, Baba Miller is one of three players in college basketball this season averaging at least 13-10-3. Duke’s Cameron Boozer (22.8, 10.0, 3.9) and Butler’s Michael Ajayi (15.7, 11.3, 3.2) are the others. No other Bearcat dating back to 1996-97 has put together that stat line for a full season.
- The Bearcats and Jayhawks have split 10 all-time meetings, with Kansas winning two of three meetings in Lawrence and two of three matchups as Big 12 opponents. In the last matchup, Jan. 11 of last season at Fifth Third Arena, No. 11 Kansas went on a 14-0 second-half run to pull away for a 54-40 victory. The Bearcats were led by junior forward Dillon Mitchell (10 points) and post Arrinten Page, who scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds in 14 minutes off the bench. Kansas was led by center Hunter Dickinson, who had a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards.
- Led by Bill Self, now in his 23rd year at the helm of the Jayhawks, Kansas is 20-6 on the year and 10-3 in Big 12 play. The Jayhawks are ranked eighth in the latest Associated Press poll and have won nine of their last 10 games. Freshman guard Darryn Peterson leads the Jayhawks with 20.0 points per game, while sophomore forward Flory Bidunga goes for 14.5 points and a team-high 9.2 rebounds per game. Senior guards Melvin Council Jr. and Tre White each chip in with 13.8 points per contest. As a team, the Jayhawks lead the Big 12 in blocks per game (6.2), field goal percentage defense (38.4%) and 3-point percentage defense (29.7%).
