CINCINNATI — Cincinnati lacrosse sophomore Morgan Handzel and senior Lexie Wolfe earned Big 12 weekly honors, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.

Handzel collected her second Draw Specialist of the Week honor, while Wolfe was named the Big 12 Midfielder of the Week for the first time as they led Cincinnati to victories over Central Michigan, 14-6, and Robert Morris, 9-3.

Wolfe impressed on both ends of the field as she tallied a game-high four goals in the win over CMU. She also caused five turnovers and grabbed four ground balls. Against Robert Morris, Wolfe added another goal, four ground balls and caused three turnovers.

Handzel won 12 draws against Central Michigan and eight against Robert Morris, bringing her season total to 62 draw controls — 10.3 per game, which ranks fifth nationally. That includes 14 against Xavier, the second-most in a single game in program history, and 13 against Ohio State, tied for the fourth-most.
