GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving program finished the second day of Big 12 Championships on Wendesday inside the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

Prelims started at 10 a.m., featuring the 500-yard freestyle, 200-yard IM, 50-yard freestyle, women’s 1-meter dive and men’s 3-meter dive events.

After prelims, two Bearcats secured a spot in the A-finals, nine got into the B-finals and five made the C-finals to compete in the evening.

The highlight of the night came from sophomore Owen Chiles, who placed fifth overall in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:44.53. 

On the women’s side, Taira Vroom claimed ninth in the 500-yard freestyle (4:48.35), while Michelle Morgan (500-yard freestyle), Danielle Asiata (200-yard IM) and Libby Michel (200-yard IM) each tallied a top-20 placement.

Aiden Gerst contributed by grabbing 13th for the men’s 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:22.08.

Ramez Diaa finished seventh in the 3-meter dive with a score of 320.45 , while Lauren Melia recorded 14th in the 1-meter dive (239.20).

Cincinnati ended the second day with two podium placements.
