CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women's tennis team kicks off conference play with a two-match road trip against Kansas State on Friday and Oklahoma State on Sunday.
First serve against the Wildcats is set for 5 p.m. ET on Friday and 1 p.m. ET on Sunday versus the Cowgirls.
Cincinnati (5-2) heads into this weekend following a 7-0 sweep against the Butler Bulldogs this past Saturday at the Western Athletic Club in Cincinnati.
The junior doubles duo of Morgan Pyrz and Sakurako Watanabe continue to dominate. Pyrz and Watanabe earned the first doubles point for the Bearcats and the pair has yet to lose a contest in doubles.
In singles, the Bearcats completed the clean sweep, starting with Tara Kurepa’s 6-1, 6-1 victory on court No. 5 versus Butler’s Sienna Miles. Rozalia Gruszczynska secured the final point for the Bearcats in a thrilling three-set victory on court No. 2 over Brooke Arington.

Cincinnati and Kansas State last met on March 7, 2025 where the Wildcats secured a 4-3 win over the Bearcats. Kansas State currently leads the Bearcats 3-0 in the all-time series.
Kansas State comes into the match presenting a 3-3 record and are coming off of a 4-0 victory over #53 Minnesota this past Sunday.
The Wildcats’ doubles are led by the pair of Junior Maralgoo Chogsomjav and freshman Martaa Chogsomjav, who defeated Minnesota’s Nora Knezevic and Arina Valitova 6-4 on court No. 1. The pair is currently ranked #55 in doubles pairs.
In singles, freshman Sasha Kyselova clinched the match for Kansas State, securing her first individual win in a three-set matchup against Minnesota’s Mia Liepert.

Cincinnati and Oklahoma State faced off for the first time in program history last season. The Cowgirls won the match over the Bearcats with a score of 4-0.
Oklahoma State enters the weekend with a record of 3-4. Before hosting Cincinnati, the Cowgirls will take on West Virginia (6-1) on Friday at 5 p.m. in Stillwater, Okla.
The Cowgirls are currently coming off two consecutive losses against #2 Ohio State, 3-4, and #14 Tennessee, 3-4.
