CINCINNATI – Two teams that combined to win 78 games last season will face off at UC Baseball Stadium this weekend when the University of Cincinnati baseball team hosts Austin Peay for a three-game series.

On Wednesday evening, UC announced changes to the start times for the series. Friday’s game and Saturday’s game will both start at 3:00 p.m., while the finale on Sunday is set for a 1:00 p.m. start. Fans are encouraged to keep an eye on GoBearcats.com and @GoBearcatsBASE on all social media platforms for any schedule updates.

All three games this weekend will be on ESPN+.

Cincinnati is riding a three-game winning streak entering play this weekend and is coming off an 11-1 run-rule victory over Bowling Green in its home opener on Wednesday.

The Bearcats dominated the Falcons in their first game at UC Baseball Stadium this season. UC tied its season high by scoring 11 runs and crossed the plate at least once in every inning except for one. The big inning was the bottom of the fifth, which was highlighted by Ryan Tyranski’s inside-the-park home run and Quinton Coats’ mammoth three-run blast, his fourth homer of the year.

Freshman Connor Blue made the start and threw four very good innings, striking out three while allowing no walks. A trio of sophomores each pitched an inning out of the bullpen: Brennan Eager, Brendin Oliver, and Adam Buczkowski all threw scoreless frames. Buczkowski struck out the side in his only inning of work.

Cincinnati’s brand of baseball has been on display all season long, evidenced by its prowess on the basepaths. The Bearcats are 33-for-35 stealing bases this year, ranking fourth nationally with 33 stolen bases. Derrick Pitts leads UC with seven thefts, which are tied for 15th in the country.
