GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Cincinnati men’s and women’s swimming and diving program finished the fourth day of Big 12 Championships inside Greensboro Aquatic Center on Friday, Feb 27.
Prelims started at 10 a.m. including the 200-yard butterfly, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, men’s platform dive and the 200-yard free relay.
After prelims, five Bearcats secured a spot in the A-finals, six got into the B-finals and 11 made the C-finals to compete in the evening.
The highlight of the night came from senior Joleigh Crye claiming a back-to-back championship title in the 100-yard breaststroke and got a NCAA A cut time with a time of 58.02, beating her time last year (58.09).
Lindi Worrell will bring home bronze in the 100-yard breaststroke (59.34).
On the men’s side, Owen Chiles grabbed another podium-finish for the Bearcats in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 46.91.
The women’s 200-yard freestyle relay earned third including the team of Crye, Kate Mardis, JoAnn Adler, Worrell with a time of 1:30.22.
Noah Green took fifth in the platform dive with a score of 331.65 while Ramez Diaa placed seventh with a score of 329.20.
Cincinnati ended the fourth day with six podium placements.
