CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team travels to Kansas for a 5:30 p.m. ET matchup on Saturday inside Allen Fieldhouse.
THE RUNDOWN
- Cincinnati is looking to snap a two-game losing skid when it travels to Kansas on Saturday. The Bearcats recently fell to No. 15 Baylor, 76-70, in a tightly contested matchup.
- Senior Mya Perry led Cincinnati with 20 points, her 21st game in double figures this season and her eighth 20-point outing. She has led the Bearcats in scoring 12 times this year.
- Freshman Caliyah DeVillasee added 14 points on 5-of-11 shooting, five rebounds and three assists. She has finished in double figures in 17 of her 19 games played.
- Freshman Joya Crawford scored 11 points vs. Baylor, knocking down a career-high three three-pointers and dishing out four assists. She is averaging 8.3 points while shooting 54% from the floor over her last four games.
- DeVillasee is averaging 15.6 points, 4.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 43% from the field. She ranks ninth in the Big 12 in scoring, 10th in field goal percentage and 11th in assists. Her five 20-point performances are the most by a Cincinnati freshman since 2002-03.
- Perry is averaging 16.8 points, 1.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game. She ranks fifth in the Big 12 in scoring and is one of the league’s top perimeter threats, ranking sixth in made 3-pointers (56), fifth in 3-pointers per game (2.4) and 10th in 3-point percentage (.348).
- Freshman Kylie Torrence ranks seventh in the Big 12 in rebounds (7.5 rpg) and ninth in blocks (1.1 bpg). She is one of just seven freshmen nationally with at least 180 points, 160 rebounds and 25 blocks this season.
- In conference play, Torrence is averaging 8.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Three of her four double-digit rebounding efforts have come in Big 12 action, including a career-high 16 rebounds against Kansas State.
- Nationally, DeVillasee ranks sixth among freshmen in scoring (15.6), seventh in assists (4.3) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6). She is one of just three freshmen averaging at least 15 points, four assists and three rebounds per game, joining Oklahoma’s Aaliyah Chavez and USC’s Jazzy Davidson.
- The Bearcats have outrebounded their opponents in 17 games this season and rank second in the Big 12 and 54th nationally in offensive rebounds per game (14.0), along with fourth in the league in total rebounds per game (39.9).
- DeVillasee’s 81 assists this season are the most by a Bearcat since Akira Levy recorded 151 in 2021-22.
- In Big 12 play, Perry ranks second in the conference with 2.4 made 3-pointers per game and has hit at least three triples in six league contests.
- Cincinnati has held the free throw advantage in 13 games this season and ranks fifth in the Big 12 in free throws made per game (14.4). Reagan Jackson ranks sixth in the league in free throw percentage (.831).
- Perry’s season-opening double-figure scoring streak came to an end at 19 games. The run was the longest to start a season by a Bearcat since Debbie Merrill in 2002-03.
- The Bearcats are 8-1 this season when holding opponents to 69 points or fewer.
