- The 2025-26 campaign marks the 125th season of competition for Cincinnati men’s basketball, and the Bearcats will commemorate the milestone with a year-long celebration honoring the program’s rich history, iconic players and cultural legacy. Cincinnati men’s basketball, which was named a top-10 program in college basketball history by the Associated Press, boasts 44 All-Americans, 41 conference titles, six Final Four appearances and back-to-back national championships across its history, which dates back to the 1901-02 season.
- Cincinnati, allowing just 67.0 points per game defensively, ranks 10th nationally in adjusted defensive efficiency, per KenPom. Cincinnati also ranks 10th in the country in non-steal turnover percentage (9.6%), 15th in opponent offensive rebound percentage (25.8%) and 10th in opponent 2-point distance (7.1).
- Cincinnati has found itself forcing its opponents to play more deliberately on the offensive end. The Bearcats’ opponents are taking 17.9 seconds per possession, good for 284th nationally.
- The Bearcats rank third in the Big 12 in 3-point attempts per game (26.9), fourth in the conference in scoring defense (67.0) and fifth in field goal percentage defense (41.4), assists per game (16.3), turnovers forced per game (13.26) and defensive rebounds per game (26.22).
- Despite missing the NJIT and Eastern Michigan games with an injury, senior forward Baba Miller sees himself among the best nationally and in the Big 12. Miller is tied for 27th nationally and second in the Big 12 in double-doubles with nine, while sitting first in the conference and third nationally with 8.05 defensive rebounds per contest and 11th in the country and second in the conference with 10.5 total rebounds per game. He ranks fifth in the nation in defensive rebounding percentage at 29.3%.
- Averaging 13.5 points, 10.5 boards and 3. assists per game, Baba Miller is one of two players in college basketball this season averaging at least 13-10-3. Butler’s Michael Ajayi is the other, averaging 16.2 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists. No other Bearcat dating back to 1996-97 has put together that stat line for a full season.
- Cincinnati holds an 18-7 lead in the all-time series against the Knights. The Bearcats, who hold an 8-1 edge all-time in games played in Clifton, won five-straight contests before an 88-80 defeat in the College Basketball Crown quarterfinals last April. In the last matchup, sophomore center Moustapha Thiam poured in a career-high 24 points in his return to Orlando after transferring from UCF, but it was not enough as Cincinnati fell at No. 25 UCF, 73-72, Jan. 11 inside Addition Financial Arena.
- Led by 10th-year head coach Johnny Dawkins, UCF is 17-5 overall and 6-4 in Big 12 play after a 79-55 loss at No. 8 Houston Wednesday night. The Knights are receiving votes in the latest AP and USA Today/Coaches Polls. Senior guard Riley Kugel paces four Knights in double figures scoring with 14.5 points per game. Fifth-year guard Themus Fulks averages 13.9 points and ranks second in the Big 12 with 7.0 assists per contest. Junior forward Jordan Burks pours in 12.5 points per game, while senior forward Jamichael Stillwell adds 12.2 points and a team-best 8.0 rebounds per game.
