CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati women’s basketball team hosts Arizona for its annual Play4Kay game on Tuesday night. Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m. inside Fifth Third Arena.

THE RUNDOWN

  • Cincinnati looks to snap a three-game skid on Tuesday after an 80-71 loss at Kansas. The Bearcats erased a 12-point deficit and tied the game with 3:43 remaining before the Jayhawks closed on a 10-1 run.
  • The Bearcats dominated the glass at Kansas, finishing with 22 offensive rebounds and a 38-30 rebounding advantage. It marked the fourth time this season Cincinnati has recorded 20-plus offensive boards.
  • Senior Mya Perry averaged 22.5 points per game last week while shooting 42.5 percent from the field. She ranked fifth in the Big 12 in scoring, second in three-pointers made, sixth in threes per game, and fifth in minutes played for the week.
  • Perry was one of just four Big 12 players to post multiple 20-point performances last week and now has nine on the season, tied for the sixth-most in the league.
  • At Kansas, Perry poured in 25 points with four three-pointers and three assists, surpassing the 200-career made three-pointers milestone. She is six made threes shy of cracking UC’s single-season top-10 list.
  • Point guard Caliyah DeVillasee averaged 16.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game last week while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. She has scored in double figures in 18 of 20 games this season.
  • Perry ranks fifth in the Big 12 in scoring (17.2 ppg) and remains one of the league’s top perimeter threats, ranking sixth in made three-pointers (60), third in threes per game (2.5), and 11th in three-point percentage (.347).
  • DeVillasee ranks eighth in the Big 12 in scoring (15.8), ninth in field goal percentage (.427) and 11th in assists (4.2) this season. Her five 20-point games are the most by a Cincinnati freshman since 2002-03 and the second-most by a Big 12 freshman this season.
  • Freshman Kylie Torrence ranks eighth in the Big 12 in rebounds (7.3 rpg) and 10th in blocks (1.1 bpg). She is one of just nine freshmen nationally with at least 180 points, 160 rebounds and 25 blocks this season.
  • Nationally, DeVillasee ranks sixth among freshmen in scoring (15.8), eighth in assists (4.2) and sixth in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.6). She is one of just four freshmen averaging at least 15 points, four assists and three rebounds per game, joining Oklahoma’s Aaliyah Chavez, USC’s Jazzy Davidson and Wofford’s Gabby Mundy.
  • The Bearcats have outrebounded their opponents in 18 games this season and rank first in the Big 12 and 43rd nationally in offensive rebounds per game (14.4), along with fourth in the league in total rebounds per game (39.8).
  • DeVillasee’s 83 assists this season are the most by a Bearcat since Akira Levy recorded 151 in 2021-22.
  • In Big 12 play, Perry ranks third in the conference in made three-pointers per game (2.5) and second in three-point percentage (36.6), knocking down at least three triples in seven league contests.
  • Cincinnati has held the free throw advantage in 13 games this season and ranks sixth in the Big 12 in free throws made per game (14.4). Reagan Jackson ranks sixth in the league in free throw percentage (.831).
  • Perry’s season-opening double-figure scoring streak came to an end at 19 games. The run was the longest to start a season by a Bearcat since Debbie Merrill in 2002-03.
  • The Bearcats are 8-1 this season when holding opponents to 69 points or fewer.
