CINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team hits the road to face Western Kentucky on Tuesday, March 3 at 3:00 p.m. at Nick Denes Field.

The game was originally scheduled to be hosted by Cincinnati and played at UC Baseball Stadium, but rain in the forecast for Tuesday pushed the game to Bowling Green, Ky.

There will not be a television broadcast, but Western Kentucky will have a radio broadcast should fans want to follow along to the game. Visit this link to listen.

This will be the 10th meeting all-time between the Bearcats an Hilltoppers, with WKU holding a 7-2 all-time series lead. Seven of the nine matchups have been played in Bowling Green. The last time these two teams met was Feb. 26-27, 2021 for a three-game series hosted by Western Kentucky, which took two out of three games.

Tuesday’s game will pit two teams that appeared in the NCAA Tournament last year. WKU won the Conference USA tournament title and earned its fifth NCAA Tournament berth, going 0-2 in the Oxford Regional hosted by Ole Miss.

Cincinnati is coming off a series win at home vs. Austin Peay, winning the first game in walk-off fashion and shutting out the Governors in game three to clinch the series.

In the first game on Friday, UC trailed until a game-tying hit in the bottom of the ninth from Charlie Niehaus that sent the game into extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th inning, Quinton Coats launched the first pitch he saw over the wall in center field for a walk-off homer, the first by a UC player since 2023.

The second win of the weekend was highlighted by the pitching efforts of Adam Brouwer and Dominic Mauro, who combined to shut out Austin Peay in a 3-0 win to capture the series.

Cincinnati will host UC San Diego this weekend for a four-game series. Play is scheduled to begin on Thursday, March 6 at 4:00 p.m.
