TicketsCINCINNATI – The University of Cincinnati baseball team will head across town and face rival Xavier on Tuesday afternoon.
The action at Hayden Field will begin at 3:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on Xavier+, the internal streaming service for Xavier Athletics.
The game is part of the annual Joe Nuxhall Classic, which features matchups between local foes Cincinnati, Miami, Wright State, and Xavier. The Joe Nuxhall Classic will conclude at Prasco Park in Mason next month. Cincinnati will play Miami on Wednesday, April 8 at 5:00 p.m. Xavier and Wright State will play the day before at 5:00 p.m. as well. Tuesday’s game will be Cincinnati’s first as a nationally ranked program in 2026. UC slotted in at No. 25 in Baseball America’s Top 25 poll on Monday, having gone 4-1 last week to bring its overall record this season to 19-7.
It will also be another game in the long, storied history of the Cincinnati-Xavier rivalry. The crosstown rivals have met 173 times before and Cincinnati owns a 103-68-2 record all-time in the series.

Xavier is 8-17 entering play on Tuesday and has spent the first six weeks of the season playing many of the biggest brands in college baseball. After opening the season by winning a series at East Carolina, Xavier has played games against Louisville, Arkansas, Indiana, Cal State Fullerton, Ohio State, Oregon, Oregon State. Clay Burdette leads the Musketeers with a .393 batting average and is tied for the team lead with Josh Stonehouse with 16 RBI. Pitcher Ryan Piech was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday after his excellent start vs. Wofford on Friday.

Cincinnati plays four of its next five games at home. Following Tuesday’s game at Xavier, UC will host Kansas this upcoming weekend and welcomes Wright State to UC Baseball Stadium next Tuesday, March 31.
Game one vs. KU on Friday is set for a 6:00 p.m. start, game two on Saturday will be at 3:00 p.m., and the finale on Sunday will begin at 1:00 p.m.
