CINCINNATI — Cincinnati lacrosse sophomore Paige Selhorn was named the Big 12 Attack Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon.
The sophomore attacker, who had eight points on three goals and five assists, led the Bearcats to a season-high 22 goals in a dominant 22-3 victory over Youngstown State. Cincinnati totaled 33 points in the win — fourth most in single-game program history — along with 11 assists (third most in program history), seven free position goals (second all-time) and 22 goals (third all-time).
Selhorn, a Westbury, N.Y., native, has quickly established herself as one of the nation's premier offensive threats. She leads the country in total points (75) and ranks fifth in assists (36) and eighth in goals (39). Within the Big 12, she sits first in points per game (6.3) and second in assists per game (3.0), while ranking fourth in goals per game (3.3).
On Feb. 20, she recorded a school-record seven assists and three goals — 10 points in all — to lead Cincinnati to a dominant 14-6 victory over Central Michigan.
In just her second season, Selhorn has already accumulated 140 career points, fifth most in program history.
