CINCINNATI -- University of Cincinnati track and field standout Juliette Laracuente-Huebner has officially secured her spot for the NCAA Indoor Championships, March 13-14.
The junior defended her Big 12 Indoor Pentathlon title last week while breaking her own school record, earning her second trip to the indoor nationals stage on top of the outdoors in each of her first two seasons. She joins Jasmine Cotten as the only UC women to qualify for the Indoor Championships in pentathlon, with Cotten also doing so twice (2009 and 2012) and earning First-Team All-America honors in the latter.
The action from Fayetteville, Ark., will stream on ESPN+ starting at 12 p.m. ET on Friday, March 13, as well as 12:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. There will be a re-air of the championships at 7 p.m. Eastern time on Sunday, March 15 on ESPNU.
The Marengo, Ohio, native recorded 4,437 points in the pentathlon, breaking the record she previously set in Louisville's PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational in January. That mark was also just two points shy of the Big 12 Championship meet record and ranks second nationally.
Laracuente-Huebner also broke her own record in the long jump (6.36m) and gained the school's top spot in the 60m hurdles last week (8.24), demonstrating her versatility and dominance across multiple events.
Laracuente-Huebner’s performance secured her back-to-back Big 12 Indoor Pentathlon
titles.
The pentathlon consists of five events completed in a single day: the 60-meter hurdles,
high jump, shot put, long jump and 800 meters. During the outdoor season, multi-event
athletes compete in the heptathlon, which becomes a two-day event.
Laracuente-Huebner is also a three-time NCAA All-American, further solidifying her
place as one of the most accomplished multi-event athletes in Cincinnati track and field
history.
Prior to her collegiate career, Laracuente-Huebner was one of the most decorated
athletes at her high school, where she famously won four events at the state meet to
single-handedly secure the team title.
