CINCINNATI – After an incredible five-game week, Cincinnati sophomore Quinton Coats was named the Big 12 Conference’s Player of the Week on Monday.

Coats was unbelievable last week. In five games, all Cincinnati wins, he hit .500 (11-for-22) with seven home runs, and 17 RBI. Coats slugged a ridiculous 1.545 and homered at least once in every game. He ended play on Sunday with 12 home runs this season, which ranks second nationally behind Georgia’s Daniel Jackson, who homered twice on Sunday to bring his season total to 14.

For the season, Coats is now hitting .351 with 12 home runs, 31 RBI, and a .919 slugging percentage. After his phenomenal week, he ranks second nationally in home runs, second in total bases (68), and third in RBI.

Cincinnati hosts Evansville on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. before traveling west to begin Big 12 play at BYU. The series vs. the Cougars begins on Thursday.
