TicketsMIAMISBURG, Ohio – The University of Cincinnati women’s tennis program defeated the Dayton Flyers, 5-2, inside the South Regency Tennis Center on Wednesday in Miamisburg, Ohio.

The Bearcats secured the doubles point with the pair of Gabrielle Guenther and Tara Kurepa dominating over the Flyers Montserrat Sierra and Haley Klein with the first doubles win of 6-0 on court No. 2. Milica Popovski and Morgan Pyrz on court No. 3 clinched the doubles point for Cincinnati with a 6-2 victory, leaving court No. 1 unfinished.
In singles play, Popovski claimed the first singles win on court No. 6 in a quick 6-1, 6-0 match versus Dayton’s Caroline Boyle.
UC then tallied three more singles victories on courts No. 1, No. 5 and No. 3 to clinch the match, 5-2.
On court No. 1, Gunether earned a hard fought 7-6 (7-2) win over Daytons Christian Chin while Kurepa recorded her singles win on court No. 5 (6-3, 6-3).
Sakurako Watanabe captured the last singles win on court No. 3 (6-2, 7-5).
