CINCINNATI — Logan Knight threw a season-high seven shutout innings, Enzo Infelise drove in four runs on a three-hit day, and Derrick Pitts hit a two-run homer to lead Cincinnati in an 8-0 win over Baylor on Saturday afternoon.

The Bearcats, winners of three in a row, will look for a sweep Sunday at 11 a.m. This marked the team's fourth shutout (at No. 9 Auburn, Austin Peay, Kansas) as well. Offensively, UC has batted in 16 innings this series, recording multiple runs in each of the nine it has scored. Eight of nine starters also hit safely.

Knight, in his first season after two at North Dakota State, matched his season-high eight strikeouts while only allowing a walk and four hits. Adam Brouwer threw the final two innings.

He struck out the side in the second, including eight-straight strikes for a near-immaculate inning, and allowed only one hit through the first four innings. Baylor threatened in the fifth with the bases loaded, but a grounder to first ended it.

The Bearcats struck first on a Pitts infield single, where Jackson Smith (on base following his 20th hit-by-pitch of the season), scored from second as Baylor's second baseman had trouble picking up the ball. Infelise added an RBI single, then brought two more in with a shot up the middle in the third.

The crooked numbers continued with Pitts' two-run shot to right-center in the fifth, followed by an Infelise RBI double and Cal Sefcik RBI single in the seventh.

Pitts owns a team-high 18 multi-hit games, and the freshman Infelise has 14, with six of three or more.
