WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The University of Cincinnati turned in a strong bounce-back performance on day one of the Boilermaker Spring Classic, sitting sixth through 36 holes.
After opening with a 310 in round one, the Bearcats responded with a 293 in round two, a 17-stroke improvement and one of the best second-round scores in the field.
Ellise Rymer led the charge with the low round of the day for UC. Following a 77 in round one, she fired a 3-under 69 in round two to move to 146 (+2) overall and into the top 10.
Rim Imni also made a strong push, carding a 73 in round two to sit in 19th.
Mar Garcia Jimenez (152, T31st), Yu-Wei Chiang (156, T55th) and Clara Willem (157, T61st) follow in order for the Bearcats. Angela Gomez, who is competing as an individual, posted a day one score of 165 (T86th).
Monday’s final round tees off at 9 a.m.
