CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati men’s basketball team has signed transfer forward Adlan Elamin for the 2026-27 season, first-year head coach Jerrod Calhoun announced Thursday. Elamin, who played in 35 games, including 28 starts, as a freshman last season at Utah State, will have three years of eligibility remaining.

“We have great familiarity with Adlan, who was a key part to a great team last year,” Calhoun said. “He has tremendous upside and a great foundation of youth. He can have a strong impact of winning on both sides of the ball, not only with his offense, but with his defense.”

A native of Arlington, Va., Elamin averaged 6.7 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, shooting 44.4% from the field and 83.0% from the free-throw line last season for the Aggies, helping Utah State to the Mountain West regular-season and tournament championships and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. He scored in double figures on 11 occasions, including a season-high 15 three times. Elamin was named Mountain West Freshman of the Week Feb. 8, helping Utah State to road wins at New Mexico and Wyoming, including his first-career double-double with 11 points and 10 boards in the victory over the Lobos.

A four-star prospect by ESPN and 247Sports, Elamin helped St. Paul VI Catholic High School to a No. 1 ranking according to MaxPreps, a 35-3 record and a state championship as a junior, before another top-10 ranking and a 27-6 standing as a senior.
