CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati women’s basketball head coach Katrina Merriweather has announced the signing of transfer Sahnya Jah.
Jah, a six-foot forward, comes to Cincinnati after one season at SMU, where she appeared in 25 games and averaged career-best 9.3 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game.
“Sahnya comes highly recommended by her former coaches,” said Merriweather. “She possesses the skill, passion, and experience we need to compete at the highest level. Her versatility, athleticism, and toughness will make an immediate impact on our team. We are thrilled to have someone with pro goals and to be part of her journey to reach them. Sahnya’s smile, tenacity, and personality will be well received by the city and the Bearcat Family. We look forward to welcoming her, along with her family and supporters, to our Sisterhood.”
In 2025-26, Jah posted 10 double-figure scoring games and two 20-point performances while leading SMU in scoring four times and rebounding five times.
Prior to SMU, Jah spent time at Arizona and South Carolina. As a sophomore at Arizona, she averaged 6.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game while scoring in double figures five times. She posted a career-high 22 points and her first career double-double against Weber State.
