CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati baseball team, after a dramatic series victory over No. 12 West Virginia, has rejoined the top-25 for the second time this season.

The Bearcats are No. 23 by Baseball America. They were previously No. 25 by D1Baseball the week of March 23, in addition to two of the first three weeks of last season.

Friday's game was suspended in the 12th inning due to rain. When it picked up Saturday afternoon, West Virginia scored four runs in the top of the 13th and stranded the bases loaded for a 9-5 win. Following a brief intermission, the Bearcats responded with a 5-2 win in the nightcap behind gutsy long-relief performances by freshman Chad Brown and bullpen ace Adam Buczkowski.

Sunday's rubber game was where it all happened. The Bearcats trailed 5-2 with only three hits entering the bottom of the eighth. Five-straight hits, including a two-run single by All-Big 12 catcher Jack Natili for his third hit of the game, keyed the five-run rally and eventual 7-5 victory.

Cincinnati returns to action Friday night for a three-game series at Houston.
