STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State's bats were too much for Cincinnati in a 10-4 decision that concluded the series on Sunday afternoon.
Oklahoma State homered three times: a solo in the second, 3-run in the third and 2-run in the sixth. Eight of the top-nine hitters in the Cowboys' order hit safely.
Derrick Pitts' home run in the third was his second of the year. He and Cal Sefcik led the way with two hits apiece. Ryan Tyranski also tripled in a run in the eighth, his first of the season. Three of UC's four runs came in the eighth.
Logan Knight started on the hill and took the loss, pitching three innings and allowing five runs. Connor Blue's first two both loaded the bases, but the Bearcats stood tall to only allow one run. Dominic Mauro and Alex Gonzalez also pitched scoreless innings.
Cincinnati plays Miami (Ohio) at Prasco Park on Wednesday to conclude the Joe Nuxhall Classic before hosting Baylor over the weekend.
