The University of Cincinnati women’s golf team closed out a strong week in Napa with a fifth-place finish at the Chevron Silverado Showdown at Silverado Country Club & Resort, delivering one of its best team performances of the season against a deep national field that featured multiple ranked programs.

NAPA, Calif. – The University of Cincinnati women’s golf team closed out a strong week in Napa with a fifth-place finish at the Chevron Silverado Showdown at Silverado Country Club & Resort, delivering one of its best team performances of the season against a deep national field that featured multiple ranked programs.

The Bearcats posted a three-round total of 880, a season low team score, to secure their fifth-place finish. Cincinnati finished ahead of several nationally ranked opponents, including No. 39 CSU Fullerton, No. 44 California, No. 45 Oregon State and No. 48 Colorado.

Mar Garcia Jimenez led the way with a standout week, carding a 2-under 70 in the final round to finish 4-under for the tournament (212) and place seventh individually. Garcia’s 54-hole total marked a season low, one stroke off her career best, and was the first time in her career finishing four-under par. She also finished ahead of more than 10 ranked individuals in the field.

Rim Imni also turned in a strong final round, posting a 1-under 71 to finish at 2-over for the tournament and 21st overall.

Ellise Rymer and Yu-Wei Chiang each recorded final rounds of 75, while Clara Willem closed with a 77 to round out Cincinnati’s lineup.
