MANHATTAN, Kan. — Eight-straight wins, including six on the road, came to an end Sunday afternoon as Kansas State thwarted Cincinnati's offense in a 5-2 decision.

Cincinnati scored twice in the second inning, by virtue of a Cal Sefcik single and Christian Mitchelle groundout, and it was all the Bearcats could manage.

K-State bounced back with a two-run homer in the third, followed by an RBI single in the fourth and two-run double in the fifth.

K-State starter James Guyette, previously the Wildcats' Friday night starter, allowed two hits with 13 strikeouts and one walk in a complete game.

Cincinnati had won each of its last three Connor Blue starts. He went 3 2/3 innings, allowing three earned runs. Dillon Schueler relieved him and yielded the final two before three other Bearcats closed it out.
