CINCINNATI — The Cincinnati men’s basketball team has signed forward Deshaun Vaden for the 2026-27 season, first-year head coach Jerrod Calhoun announced Friday. Vaden, who played in 29 contests as a sophomore last season at Mount Union, will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

“We are extremely excited about Deshaun joining the Bearcat family,” Calhoun said. “His ability to impact the game on the defensive end will be a big boost for our front line. He has strong intangibles with size and length and, with his significant improvement in just a short time playing basketball, has room to grow substantially in our system.”

Vaden, from Cleveland, Ohio, played in 44 games over two seasons at Mount Union. In 29 games as a sophomore in 2025-26, he averaged 5.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.5 blocks in just 15.6 minutes per game. Vaden also shot 64.2% from the field while ranking third in the nation in blocks per contest.
