BRYAN, Texas – The Cincinnati men’s golf team completed its 2025-26 season with a 10th-place finish at 8-over-par at the NCAA Bryan Regional Tuesday at Traditions Club. After playing the first round Monday, teams played 36 holes Tuesday to complete the tournament with inclement weather approaching the area.
Texas won the Regional at 45-under and will advance to the NCAA Championship finals at the end of the month along with Texas A&M (40-under), Chattanooga (23-under), North Carolina (19-under) and Tennessee (18-under).
“Any time you can make it to the postseason, it’s a good and successful year,” Cincinnati head coach Doug Martin said. “We were seeded 10th and finished 10th and that’s something that doesn’t sit well with me. When we come to events like this, I think we need to raise our level of play a little bit, but I don’t think we accomplished that this week. But I’m really proud of our three tremendous seniors who have given their heart and soul to me and this program. I love them and would do anything for Rylan (Wotherspoon), Connor (McNeely) and Ryan (Ford).”
Ford and Wotherspoon helped the Bearcats to a pair of NCAA appearances, while McNeely, who transferred to from Butler after his freshman year, helped guide Cincinnati in his senior campaign. Ford has shattered the Bearcats’ career scoring average set by Sam Jean with a 71.47 for his career. The Westfield, Ind., native has notched a program-record 10 career top-10 finishes and made three NCAA appearances.

Wessel carded a bogey-free 4-under 68 in the morning session to vault up the leaderboard as he recorded his 12th round in red numbers of his sophomore campaign. Ford continued to struggle to gain any positive momentum in the Lone Star State, recording three birdies and three bogeys on his way to an even-par 72.
McNeely and Miller each carded a 3-over 75, having two birdies offset by three bogeys and a double, while Cassano posted a 4-over 76.
In the second session, Ford carded seven birdies on his way to a 4-under 68 and 15-spot jump up the leaderboard. The senior birdied four holes on his opening nine but gave three back in his first five holes on his second nine. However, he responded to birdie his final three holes for his 17th under-par round of the year.
Wessel had it rolling and midway through his second nine was tied for low individual at the tournament, but a bogey and a double on two of his final three holes dropped him to an even-par 72. Miller notched a 1-over 73, McNeely closed with a 2-over 74 and Cassano wrapped up his tournament with an 8-over 80.
As a team, the Bearcats tied for fourth in the 14-team field with 173 pars, while Miller and McNeely tied for third with 40 pars apiece.
