JV Gibson comes to Cincinnati after advancing to the College Football Playoff with Oklahoma in 2025. He recorded 18 catches for 199 yards and a touchdown with the Sooners one year after being named an FCS All-American at Arkansas Pine-Bluff in 2024. That season, Gibson tallied 70 receptions, 1,215 receiving yards (101.3 yards per game) and nine touchdowns.
How did you begin playing football?
“I began playing football, watching my brother play football. I was like, I wanted to do that. Then they put me in flag football, and that's where it all started from, from there on.”
Who is your all-time favorite football player?
“My favorite player I would say is Randy Moss or OBJ (Odell Beckham Jr.).”
What do the fans mean to you?
“That's everything. The fans are the life of the party. If the fans aren’t crunk, I feel like I'm not crunk because I want to fit the vibe.”
What does Nippert Stadium mean to you?
“It's where I'll be playing my last college games at, so I feel like it's going to mean something special to me. I can always come back to this place. The fans, the people around here are loving, the coaching staff is great.”
What is your favorite football memory?
“I really don't have one. I'm still trying to make some.”
What do you like to do outside of football?
“Pplay my game and just chill all day. I'm going to go stretch and rest my body. Get ready for Niko [Palazeti] tomorrow.”
