CINCINNATI – Cincinnati offensive lineman Evan Tengesdahl has been nominated for the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) announced Monday.
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team recognizes student-athletes for community service, academic dedication and impact on and off the field.
Tengesdahl has already received Preseason All-America honors from several outlets, including the Walter Camp Football Foundation, and Cotton has been named Preseason All-Big 12 by Phil Steele and Athlon Sports.
Tengesdahl’s 82.8 PFF rating in 2025 was the highest among Big 12 guards and ranked sixth nationally at the position. He helped Cincinnati’s line earn recognition from the Joe Moore Award, as the Bearcats were named semifinalists for the award that annually honors the top offensive line in the country.
Off the field, Tengesdahl is an exemplary student-athlete. He has made the Dean’s List in each of the last five semesters and was an Academic All-District selection this past year. He also contributes in the community and visited patients at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis during Cincinnati’s stay for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
The final roster of 23 award recipients announced in September will bring together:
- 11 players from the NCAA FBS
- 11 players from the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Divisions II, III and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA)
- 1 honorary head coach
ABOUT THE ALLSTATE AFCA GOOD WORKS TEAM
The Allstate AFCA Good Works Team was established in 1992 by the College Football Association, recognizing the extra efforts made by college football players and student support staff off the field. AFCA became the governing body of the award in 1997 and continues to honor college football players who go the extra mile for those in need. Allstate worked to present the award starting with the 2008 season.
The 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team will be announced in September and include 22 student-athletes and one honorary head coach. One student-athlete will also be selected as team captain and receive the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy.
