CINCINNATI — Cincinnati track and field multi-event star Juliette Laracuente-Huebner was selected as the Big 12's fourth-annual Bob Bowlsby Award recipient – the highest conference individual award – the conference office announced Tuesday. The award is given to student-athletes who exemplify leadership and achievement on and off the field.
Established by the Big 12 Board of Directors and named after the league's former Commissioner Bob Bowlsby, this award is the conference's highest individual honor. The winners were determined by a vote of the league's athletics directors. Arizona State's Jonny Kulow and TCU's Olivia Miles were the other athletes to receive the honor.
An incredibly decorated track and field standout, Laracuente-Huebner set five school records at Cincinnati during her historic 2025-26 campaign. She established UC indoor records in the pentathlon (4,442 points) and the 60m hurdles (8.24 seconds), along with the UC indoor long jump record (6.36 meters). Outdoors, she set the UC heptathlon record (6,086 points) and the UC outdoor long jump record (6.42 meters).
Her banner year was further highlighted by a sweep of conference and national honors. Laracuente-Huebner was named the 2026 Big 12 Track and Field Scholar-Athlete of the Year and won the 2026 Big 12 outdoor heptathlon title before earning 2026 Outdoor First Team All-American honors with a runner-up finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Indoors, she won the 2026 Big 12 indoor pentathlon title and secured a third-place finish as a 2026 Indoor First Team All-American at the NCAA Indoor Championship.
Laracuente-Huebner's success on the track was matched step for step in the classroom. She graduated in spring 2026 after just three years at UC, earning a Bachelor of Science in speech-language hearing sciences with a perfect 4.0 cumulative GPA. Her academic résumé includes recognition as a 2026 Big 12 Women's Track & Field Scholar-Athlete, a finalist for the 2026 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar Award and a two-time selection to the Big 12 Spring All-Academic Team (2025, 2026). She also received the 2026 Big 12 Dr. Gerald Lage Academic Achievement Award, was named to the Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll in all eight of her semesters and made the UC Dean's List (3.4+ GPA) all eight semesters. She earned USTFCCCA Academic Honors in 2024 and 2025 and was nominated for the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team in Winter 2026.
Beyond the track and the classroom, Laracuente-Huebner has been a consistent presence in the Cincinnati community. She was named to the Ally Sidloski BEARCATS STRONG list in both 2024 and 2025, recognizing excellence in academics, leadership, work ethic and character. Over the past two years, she has volunteered hours with organizations including Girls on the Run, the Aruna Run Project, the 9/11 Memorial Run, Camp Speak. Dream. Live., the Su Casa Health Fair, Little Sisters of the Poor and the UC Student Government Thanksgiving Food Drive. She is also a member of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) and Multicultural Concerns in Communication Sciences & Disorders (MC²).
