TicketsCINCINNATI – Cincinnati senior offensive lineman Evan Tengesdahl has been named to the preseason watch list for the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy, per an announcement from the Wuerffel Foundation on Tuesday.
College football’s premier community service award, the Wuerffel Trophy is presented annually to the FBS player who best combines exemplary community service with leadership achievement on and off the field.
Tengesdahl has already received Preseason All-America honors from several outlets, including the Walter Camp Football Foundation. He was an AP All-American last year, his first season as a full-time starter.
Tengesdahl’s 82.8 PFF rating in 2025 was the highest among Big 12 guards and ranked sixth nationally at the position. He helped Cincinnati’s line earn recognition from the Joe Moore Award, as the Bearcats were named semifinalists for the award that annually honors the top offensive line in the country.
Off the field, Tengesdahl is an exemplary student-athlete. He has made the Dean’s List in each of the last five semesters and was an Academic All-District selection this past year. He also contributes in the community and visited patients at St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis during Cincinnati’s stay for the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
The Allstate Wuerffel Trophy finalists will be selected by the Allstate Wuerffel Trophy National Selection Committee, with input from a fan vote. The 2026 recipient will be announced live on The Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 11, and also serve as captain of the 2026 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team.

The Wuerffel Trophy is named after Heisman Trophy winner, College Football Hall of Famer, former NFL quarterback, and renowned humanitarian Danny Wuerffel, whose life mission is to inspire greater service in the world. Wuerffel led the University of Florida to four SEC Championships and the Gators’ first National Football Championship as the team’s star quarterback. The 1996 Heisman Trophy winner set 17 NCAA and Florida records and won a myriad of other awards including the Maxwell Award, the Davey O’Brien Award, and The William V.
