Cincinnati Announces 2026 Football Radio Crew & Coach Satterfield Show Schedule

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati Athletics and its multimedia rights partners today announced the official radio broadcast team for the 2026 Cincinnati Bearcats football season, alongside complete schedule details for The Scott Satterfield Radio Show.

Beginning this fall, former Cincinnati standout quarterback Tony Pike will take over as the full-time color commentator on the Cincinnati Bearcats Football Radio Network, joining veteran play-by-play broadcaster Dan Hoard.

Hoard enters his 27th season calling Cincinnati football. Notably, Hoard also serves as the radio voice of the NFL's Cincinnati Bengals, making him the only broadcaster in the nation simultaneously executing radio play-by-play duties for both an NCAA FBS program and an NFL franchise. While national television voices such as ESPN’s Wes Durham (Atlanta Falcons) and Bob Wischusen (New York Jets) handle NFL radio play-by-play, Hoard remains singular in pulling double duty for a local college and pro market on radio. 

Pike, who led the Bearcats to back-to-back BCS Bowl appearances in 2008 and 2009 as an All-BIG EAST performer before being selected by the Carolina Panthers in the 2010 NFL Draft, steps into the booth full-time following the passing of legendary color analyst Jim Kelly Jr. on Oct. 12, 2025. Kelly Jr. spent 26 seasons alongside Hoard, serving as the voice behind some of the most iconic moments in UC football history. 

In a fitting connection, Hoard, Pike, and Kelly Jr. are all inductees of the Cincinnati Athletics Hall of Fame—named in honor of Kelly Jr.’s father, James P. Kelly Sr. Pike was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025 on Oct. 24, 2025.

Gameday Broadcast Coverage

On gamedays, radio broadcasts will feature Chase Younts reporting from the sidelines exclusively for all home games at Nippert Stadium.

Coverage across the network will feature a comprehensive pregame show starting 60 minutes prior to kickoff, anchored by Mo Egger. Egger’s pregame analysis will highlight exclusive interviews with Bearcat student-athletes and coaches ahead of each matchup.

Due to broadcast schedule conflicts with Cincinnati Reds games, the Sept. 5 (vs. Boston College) and Sept. 19 (vs. Miami OH) games will air live on both 700 WLW and 102.7 WEBN (FM). 700 WLW will join the broadcast at kickoff and break away at 5:40 p.m. for Cincinnati Reds baseball coverage, with full game coverage remaining live on 102.7 WEBN. Additionally, the Sept. 12 game against Western Carolina will air live exclusively on 102.7 WEBN (FM) due to the Reds' 3:00 p.m. start time. Flagship station designation for the Sept. 26 Kansas State game remains TBD pending kick time determination.

*Note: 700 WLW will carry the broadcast from kickoff until 5:40 p.m. before breaking away for Cincinnati Reds coverage. Full game coverage will continue uninterrupted on 102.7 WEBN. Pregame coverage begins 60 minutes prior to kickoff for all games with Mo Egger.

 The Scott Satterfield Radio Show Returns to Original Montgomery Inn

The fourth season of The Scott Satterfield Radio Show kicks off this fall, broadcasting live every Tuesday night during game weeks from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. live from the Original Montgomery Inn (9440 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45242).

Hosted by Dan Hoard, the weekly show offers fans an inside look at Bearcats football with direct insights from Head Coach Scott Satterfield, featured assistant coaches, and student-athlete guest appearances. Fans are invited to attend live, enjoy dinner, and ask questions during the show. Table reservations are highly recommended.
