MUNCIE, Ind. – The University of Cincinnati women’s soccer team fell ,1-0, against Ball State on Sunday at Briner Sports Complex in Muncie, Ind.

The Bearcats move to 1-2-1 on their season.

Cincinnati set the tone early, as junior Tiana Campbell recorded the match’s first shot less than two minutes in during her first start of the season. UC controlled the first half, outshooting Ball State 5-1 as both teams entered halftime scoreless.

Ball State opened the scoring after the break in the 48th minute, placing a shot into the bottom-right corner to take the advantage.

The Bearcats continued to pressure in the second half, adding five more shots but unable to find the equalizer, as the Cardinals secured a 1-0 victory.

Freshman Jade Dubois made her Bearcat debut during the match.

Six Bearcats including Ally Gilbert, Anna Barber, Karson Yon, Emma Gioffre, Amber Branum and goalie Amber Brandon played the full 90. 

Up next, Cincinnati will travel to Mount Pleasant, Mich., to face Central Michigan at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3 inside CMU Soccer/Lacrosse Complex.
